Brad Hennen for Minnesota House – District 15A

Hello, I’m Brad Hennen, and I’m honored to announce my candidacy for the District 15A seat in the Minnesota House of Representatives, recently vacated by Representative Chris Swedzinski.

I want to begin by thanking Chris for his dedicated service to our region and for setting a strong example of leadership. I am committed to building on that foundation and continuing to serve the people of Southwestern Minnesota with integrity and purpose.

I am a lifelong resident of Lyon County, born and raised in this community I’m proud to call home. My wife, Barb, and I raised our nine children on our family farm near Ghent, where faith, family, and community have always been at the center of our lives.

Agriculture has shaped both my career and my values. I farmed full-time for 26 years and have spent the past 13 years working in agricultural sales, supporting farmers across our region. I’ve also had the privilege of serving in leadership roles, including 10 years on the Minnesota Pork Board—two as President—and 15 years with the Lyon County Farm Bureau, where I have served as treasurer for the past eight years.

In addition to my work in agriculture, I’ve been deeply involved in our community through volunteer service with local civic organizations. These experiences have given me a strong understanding of both the challenges and opportunities facing our district.

My faith has also been an important part of my life and service. I am currently in my fifth year as Financial Secretary for our local Knights of Columbus chapter and I have spent 35 years teaching religious education and serving as a lector and cantor in our parish.

I am a principled conservative, guided by common sense and a commitment to doing what is right for our communities. If elected, I will work tirelessly to represent Southwestern Minnesota, advocate for our shared values, and make responsible decisions that strengthen our future.
